We prefer this part be quoted as complete. This means it will require turning and drilling operations in addition to the EDM. However, we may be able to do the turning and drilling in house, so we are also interested in hearing quotes for just the EDM work.
The part is a flexure bearing. It allows for small rotations while maintaining reasonable pitch stiffness. The flexure is a 3" cylindrical shell 0.125" thick and 3.5" long. In the center of the shell is a 0.5" shaft with six bolting bosses in a flower petal arrangement. The shaft is supported by six radial webs that are 0.015" thick. The total EDM path length is 37.2".
