RFQ Notes:
Fabricate metal band (cuff) in aluminum with a brushed
stainless steel finish. The finish
should be such that it resists fingerprinting. The band
should be fabricated in a manner
that allows it to expanded slightly during assembly,
slipped around a cylindrical bottle
and then released to fit tightly and smoothly in an
indented area of the bottle (see drawing of bottle). The
outer diameter of the bottle is 43mm. So the band should
fit snug about this diameter. The band is roughly 0.5 inch
wide by 5.00 to 5.10 inches long. The length can vary
somewhat on the design to allow it
to fit snugly on the bottle. The return spring of the
metal band
must be such that high yields are possible in the manual
assembly of the bottle with band. Most likely the band
will need to be formed tighter
than the diameter of the bottle. The band thickness is
initially felt to be 0.5-0.7mm but adjustments can be made
based on a supplier’s input as the buyer can also adjust
the bottle design at this point. The band should have a
high quality, comestic finish. Each
band will need to be etched/debossed with the name of the
product (see attached file showing one of the
products). Edges will need to be deburred to eliminate
any possibility of cutting fingers
during assembly. It is expected that edge will be inside
the indent of the bottle in the
final product. Initially there will be four products so
production will be 2500 of each style for a total of
10000. An initial prototype had been made (see photo) and
the buyer is looking for multiple suppliers to quote.

(previous examples of doing this) and price.
