RFQ Notes:
Cylindrical chamber made of metal with high thermal
resistance (aluminum would suffice)
comprised of three pieces.
Chamber will be fitted with conical piece at one end
(preferably detachable by screw fitting
or gasket seal), and sealed with a removable top piece at
other end that fits over cylinder
body (preferably detachable by clamp).
Inner dimensions are most important constraints.
Cylinder body inner radius is 5 inches, and axial height
is 3.5 inches, with wall thickness no
greater than .75 inches.
Bottom cone piece will be at 5 inches inner diameter at
interface with cylinder body, and will
have .5 inches diameter aperture at bottom end with total
axial height of 6 inches. This
aperture will be connected to a tube fittings
apparatus.
Top piece will fit over cylinder body outer wall and
enclose the top aperture of the cylinder
body, but will have six .5 inch diameter holes placed
equidistant around the top plate, and
approximately 1 inch hole for adapter fitting at the
center of the top plate.
Chamber will need additional small openings in sidewalls
to allow for pressure/temperature
probes at various points.
Outer shape can be cylindrical or fitted to inner diameter
depending if chamber pieces are
extruded from solid pipe or welded (with exception of top
piece, which will protrude slightly
from cylindrical body).
Any tooling design/manufacture will be part of this
project.
