RFQ Notes:
I would like to produce an electric control unit for an
air-actuated bioreactor.
The control unit
will include a timer relay and air flow switch, capable of
controlling the flow of air at a rate
of 10 – 120 cycles/minute.
All pressurized units
should
be rated for a minimum pressure
rating of 100 psi.
The inputs to the unit will be a facility air supply at 60
psi via a 3/8” supply hose and 120V
AC through an IEC 320 cord (a computer power cord). The
output of the device will be 4
compression tube fittings.
I have included an approximate bill of materials with
components from McMaster-Carr. Any
equivalent components are acceptable, with the exception
of the timer relay and pressure
gauge.
The only components that are not included
on the
bill of materials are the internal
fittings and wiring. I have also included a rough
schematic of the device.
The device should be enclosed in a maximum 12” x 7” x 4”
enclosure, although a more
compact enclosure is preferable.

is a rough approximation of the
external appearance and dimensions of the control unit.
