File compressed with winzip www.winzip.com
The part comprises an octagon shaped "hub" with a .375" diameter threaded "shank" perpendicular to the hub at one end. The octagon shaped hub can also be a .875" diameter round shape.
I would prefer to make the part in one piece for strength. However the part could be made as a weldment. The octagon shaped hub could be made from .875" diameter round stock. The stock could be cut to length without any machining to diameter, and then drilled, reamed, and tapped. The shank could be made in the same way from .375" diameter round stock. The shank could then be welded to the hub. A 3/32" diameter dowel could be used for locating if needed. If reduction in cost is significant, I would consider this method.
Please note whether the part will be a weldment or one piece with your quote. If you are able to quote the part both ways, please do. It would help me to know the price of both methods and then decide which way is best. I would appreciate any suggestions on the best method for production and on any way to reduce the cost of the part.
I am also interested in pricing on quantities of 100 to 500 and 1,000.
This part could be cut from 7/8" flat plate stock. Referring to the right side view of the drawing, the distance between the two horizontal "flats" of the octagon shape hub could be 7/8" across. In this way, the profile shown in the front view of the drawing could be cut from 7/8" thick flat stock.
It may be possible to precision saw the majority of the part this way.
If this method is used, all 8 sides of the octagon will not be the same length, i.e, .375". However, this is not important for my purposes.
Delivery date is flexible
Please let me thank you in advance for your quote.
