We hold three patents on our OEM equipment that we design, machine, and assemble from the ground up. These machines have control systems on them that we program with PLC type programmers or with National Instruments products such as LabView. We use SolidWorks, Cosmos, and FeatureCAM to design parts and program our CNC machines. Our shop equipment includes a Haas VM3 high speed vertical machining center ("Mold Maker"), Haas TL2 lathe, Bridgeport Series I mill with 2 axis CNC and other smaller equipment such as manual sheet metal machines, Miller Dynasty TIG/stick welder, and Burr King vibratory deburring. We can provide surface finishing of parts (some done in-house, most done outside), to include metal finishes such as hard anodizing, electroless nickel plating, and cold bluing, and small part heat treating. Participating in the SME Lean Manufacturing certification process with the Bronze level body of knowledge exam and certificate successfully completed, and participating in the National Instruments Certified Associate LabView Developer program. Low corrosion parts such as aluminum brass and stainless for applications such as experimental aircraft, marine products, and outdoor sports are among our areas of interest. Artistic Machining is located in Burton, MI providing years of experience in small parts machining and weldments. We have experience working with molds, dies, fixtures for milling, welding, laser, and machining, detail and piece work, MIG/TIG welding, prototype making of dies, die barber, die tryout, and blank development. We have primarily always worked in the automotive industry.
We can work with steel, aluminum and some plastics and utilize Haas and Miller brand equipment and Solidworks for file transfer, prototyping and engineering. Our facility is well organized providing efficient working areas.
All of our products are fully inspected before leaving the machine shop and will always be to the specifications of our customers. We pay attention to the small details that other machine shops may overlook as quality is absolutely first. This ensures our customers’ success and keeps them coming back.
We have previously manufactured steering systems that experienced fitment problems and conducted minor changes that allowed the products performance to sky rocket. We have also created difficult items such as rack and pinion housings for steering systems.
In addition to our specialty in small machined parts and weldments, we have 20+ years experience in restoring automobiles which provides an excellent working knowledge of mechanical equipment.
