RFQ Notes:
Production of a cup. Approximately 1.89" OD X 8.53" long x
0.063" wall thickness. Specifications MIL-A-2550 AND MIL-
P-71089
apply. Material is alloy steel, AISI 4140, spec ASTM-A507
or ASTM-A322 alternate material is AISI4340, spec ASTM-
A507 or ASTM-A322 heat treat to 150,000-170,000psi, y.s in
tension - (austenitized, quenched, tempered), Max hardness
of Rc40. Unless specified all dimensions apply after
phosphate pretreatment. Protective finish is type V, spec
TT-C-490. Phosphate coating weight shall be 500 to
1100mg/sq. ft. Parts exhibiting hardness readings greater
than rc38 must be provided with hydrogen embrittlement
relief after phosphate coating. These parts must be oven
baked for a minimum of 3 hours at 200degF to 225degF or
stored for a minimum of 30 days at ambient temperatures
(minimum 65degF). Cup must withstand a tensile force of
20,000lbs without breaking. 125 finish all over. Buyer is
outsourcing this part in another category in order to
determine the most cost effective method of
manufacturing. Please
