RFQ Notes:
Production of a turned Shift rod. Approximately 180mm x
25mm x 25mm. Material is brass. Please see drawing for all
specifications.
Manufacturing of two different shift rods in brass.
One is made of diam. 13mm roundbar which has decorative
dimples drilled on it. The other one is made out of 12x12mm
squarebar which is heated and twisted 3-4 times 180degrees
in opposite directions.
Suggestion of manufacturing method for the twisted shift
rod:
-first make the threads and chamfers in a lathe
- fasten the other end in a vise (careful not to leave any
marks)
- heat the base of the rod and twist it 180 degrees with a
tap wrench(or similar)
at the upper end
- repeat the heating and twisting 3-4 times(180degrees in
opposite directions) moving upward, somewhat evenly spaced
The dimpled shift rod could possibly be done entirely in a
lathe equipped with rotating tools, or in a mill
(preferably cnc) using a fixture and drilling one row of
at a time and then turning the rod 90 degrees between rows.
Please quote 100pcs of both rod types and 1+1 as samples(or
just 100pcs of the round one if you cannot quote the
twisted one).
NOTE: I will choose only one type at this time, or 50+50 if
possible.
The finish is mirror polished on both shift rods.
There will probably be a need for 100-500pcs more later
this year.
