Request for Quote Details:
 |
The specific Machining process that was specified is CNC Machining. |
 |
The specified material is Metal-Aluminum. |
 |
This RFQ was for 20, 40, and 80 Sets. The estimated annual usage is 200. |
RFQ Notes:
Production of frames. Please see drawings for dimension
specifications. These items need to be produced with nice
mill finish. The part has been designed to be
made on a three axis mill with mostly normal tools. Most
of the work can be done with
standard drills, end mills, ball end mills, and slot
cutting tools. There is one aspect
of the part that is harder to find a tool for. The
bearing bosses (bumps inside the
channel) need to be made with a Lollypop style ball end
mill. The Lollypop would be a
ball end mill at the end of a smaller shank where the ball
forms a ball like the end of a
lolly pop. (I think a standard ball end mill can be
reground to meet the need). It also might be possible to cut 50% of the boss from the
bottom of the part and then cut the next 50% of the boss after a flip.
The IGS file shows a 3D model for two parts. Both parts
must be made to form a set. The parts are used for high end inline speed skating and will
retail to the end customer for $185 to $225. I need a mfg price in the range of $90 to
$150 per set. I might be able to increase the minimum to meet the per unit price.
Please quote the price for 6061 and then supply a note to
indicate the increase in cost
for 2024, or 7075.
Also, if you have suggestions for changes to the drawings
to lower manufacture cost
please let me know. I do my own CAD work and can make
changes fairly quickly.
