Production of a chisel. Approximately 5.56" long x 0.25"

dimensions. This RFQ is for a high quality, custom chisel
blade for woodworking. The material is A2 tool
steel. The part is one of a set of four. There will be
four open RFQs and all will be awarded TOGETHER. Please
see RFQs 57462, 57464, and 57468 for other parts. Buyer
will total the 4 quotes together. The prototype production
pieces were made using ground flat stock A-2, laser cut,
machined, deburred, Heat treated, lea wheel to remove
oxidation, final bevel grind and them laser
engraved. It may be better to start with dimensioned flat
stock and forego the laser cutting.
Another option is to have them forged and then
machined/ground to final size. The final
product needs to look exceedingly nice with ground finish,
Ra32 or better, on top and bottom
and bevel should be Ra16 or better. No stray scratches or
dings are premitted. Hardness
needs to be a consistant 60-62 Rc. Buyer may be open to
small changes to facilitate easier/cheaper manufacturing
processes or fixturing. Please include shipping in
quotation.
