Request for Quote Details:

The specific Machining process that was specified is CNC Machining.
 The specified material is Metal-Aluminum.
This RFQ was for 100, 250, and 500 Sets. The estimated annual usage is 1,200.

RFQ Notes:

Production of a case. Approximately 66.60mm x 44mm x 22.70mm. Please see drawing for dimension specifications. Buyer has a product which is in production and needs a new supplier for machined parts. The two parts in question are: X1_case and X1_backplate (This quote is a quotation for BOTH parts). The X1_case is machined from a block of 6061-T6 aluminum. The X1_backplate is machined from a 0.050" sheet of 6061-T6 aluminum. As these parts have been in production for a few months, Buyer can provide single 'master' pieces already machined, to use as master controls. Buyer has an immediate need of 100 pieces of each part. After initial order of 100 units of each part, Buyer's continuing requirements will be approximately: November 2007: 150 (of each part), All of 2008: 500-1000 (each), All of 2009: 1000-2000 (each). Buyer needs a supplier who can provide parts on schedule, consistently & identically from one batch to the next, without gross errors. Refer to the SolidWorks files & PDF drawings for details. The text on X1_case is not to be machined. It is for informational purposes only. Please note the #4-40 oversize taps required. Aside from holes, bend radii are non-critical and primarily cosmetic. Feel free to substitute imperial tooling for metric tooling wherever necessary (except for holes). The two parts mate together, forming a box. The parts will ultimately be anodized by another company, and the outer surfaces must be free from blemishes & bag marks. In particular the X1_case needs to be packaged & shipped in such a way as to be shielded from scratches. Parts should be shipped to Buyer via Fedex on our fedex account. We are hoping for a lead time of 4 weeks or less. If desired, Supplier can supply Buyer with a single test piece of each part for revision (to check setup for errors). If Supplier chooses to skip this step, then Supplier assumes responsibility for errors.
