2005 was a banner year for MFG.com and our customers. For the year, over 21,000 RFQs were sourced through MFG.com totaling over $2,000,000,000 in RFQ opportunity – yes, that’s $2 billion! That is a 100% increase in value compared to 2004. Machining lead all process categories with $573 million in RFQ opportunity and Molding followed at $270 million.

As we begin the New Year, we look forward to providing you with more value added services that will ultimately make your job easier and help your company achieve new levels of profitability.

 

Industry News - Economic Activity Grows

 

Economic activity in the manufacturing sector grew in December for the 31st consecutive month, while the overall economy grew for the 50th consecutive month, say the nation's supply executives in the latest Manufacturing ISM Report On Business®. The report was issued by Norbert J. Ore, C.P.M., chair of the Institute for Supply Management™ Manufacturing Business Survey Committee. Ore commented, "2005 was an excellent year for the manufacturing sector as measured by the ISM data. A strong fourth quarter should carry significant momentum forward into 2006."

Technical Tips - Finding Quality Suppliers

 

Did you know that you can search for suppliers based on their quality certifications and specifications? To find suppliers with AS, QS, ISO and other certifications, log onto MFG.com and click on the Supplier Management tab. You will be able to discover suppliers from 58 quality certifications and additional special business statuses. If you are an MFG.com supplier, please make sure your certifications are updated in your profile by updating your profile.
